I painted a black rectangle approximately two by three meters in size onto the wall of my studio and filmed that surface by shooting individual frames using Super 8. From image to image, I changed the outlines of the rectangle so that the black surface seems to sway back and forth until it tips over. I repeated the shot once more from various perspectives. These three films formed the initial material for the video installation; in later editing, additional color and reversals of perspective were added.
